Wow! We're still buzzing with energy from the 10th anniversary celebration of WSI on June 29. Sixty-five of you joined us at the beautiful McMenamins Kennedy School. Thank you to everyone who attended and extra thanks to everyone who pitched in to make the event happen. Your generosity and friendly spirits made the evening joyful!
Our goal for the evening was to raise $15,000. We received $13,598 – a very good showing, but not quite there. If you didn’t have the chance to attend, consider donating now to help us reach our goal.
The night was a celebration of our ten years of transforming lives through education in Kenya. With stories, photos, and handmade Kenyan crafts, we brought a slice of Kenya to Portland.
The most moving part of the evening was a short video about Marion, a student who recently graduated university after 8 years with WSI. Marion shared her educational journey with us, a testament to the power of her perseverance.
If you donated to WSI in the past 8 years, you owe it to yourself to watch this 4 minute video and see the good work that you have enabled.
Our hearts are full, and we're motivated to continue this work thanks to your ongoing support. The money raised during this event will fund our continuing mission to identify bright students and support their education.
